Children, Youth and Families

An old saying goes that the children are the future of the church. But at East End we feel that children are the church, in the here-and-now, just like everybody else. So bring ‘em along!
Children are noisy and active! That’s part of being a child!! So, if your child fusses or is chatty or is wandering hither and yon, don’t sweat it.  We remember that Jesus bid the children to come to him, so we try our best to do the same.

Faith Formation & Family Ministries

At East End United, we are committed to nurturing faith through curiosity, creativity, and community for children, youth, and families.
Church School, Youth Group, and Family Ministries at East End United are coordinated by our Faith Formation and Storytelling Coordinator, who supports children, youth, and families in growing their faith together; at church, at home, and in the wider community.

Church School

Youth GRoup

During Sunday worship, children are invited to participate in Church School, where their faith is nourished and strengthened using age-appropriate stories, activities, and discussion led by a trained teacher. Children are invited to leave partway through the service (so they don’t have to sit through the sermon!), but families are always welcome to have their children remain in worship if that feels right for them. Church School is open to children from JK to Grade 6, and all are welcome.
Our Youth Group for Grade 7+ meets Thursdays from 4:30–6:00pm at Glen Rhodes. This is a relaxed, inclusive space where youth can build friendships, explore questions of faith and justice, share food, and have fun together. Programming is shaped around the interests and experiences of the youth themselves, with an emphasis on belonging, storytelling, and community connection.

Collective 2026

We’re gauging interest in Collective 2026, a national gathering for youth, young adults, and their leaders focused on faith, community, and impact. The event takes place August 12-15, 2026, at Brock University. We’re hoping to fundraise to cover at least half the cost for participants and to coordinate transportation.

If you or someone in your household might be interested, please contact Kyla ([email protected]) to learn more.
