We on our Pastoral Care Team will walk with you when you need that. We'll talk on the phone, visit you at home, in a coffee shop, or hospital and offer our companionship in a difficult time. We'll share with you and respect your need in confidence.
The Pastoral Care Team is part of the Congregational Life committee. We function as pastoral peer support to members and adherents of our congregation, especially those can't always join us for in-person worship or activities, who are isolated for a variety of reasons, or who simply may need a supportive, listening ear. We are led by Rev. Bri-anne Swan and Mary Gerritsma co-ordinates the work of the Team. Members of our team are: Rev. Bri-anne, Mary Gerritsma, Lori Baine, Elaine Dalziel, Marian Stinson, Kathryn MacGregor, and Pat Roy. Our team depends on the professional expertise of our volunteer ministers too.
We meet monthly to discuss the needs of people in the congregation (as confidentiality allows) and lend support to each other in our own pastoral work and needs. We may visit congregants in their homes, in hospital or care settings or by phone / zoom. We endeavour to keep seniors involved in our congregation as much as possible and inform them of events and projects that are going on.
Persons in our EEU congregation who would like to receive support emotionally, spiritually, or in other ways are invited to reach out to Mary Gerritsma or Rev. Bri-anne Swan. If you would like to volunteer on our team or know someone who needs pastoral companionship, contact Mary or Rev. Bri-anne.
